Kate Truth?..... Who? Never fear! You can call me Allison just as always. Kate Truth is my "pseudo higher self" name that reminds me of my commitments, personally and professionally as I play this game of "Life". Kate Truth is like the eternal mother that will wrap you up in the warmest hug and accept you no matter what- Full Integration and Acceptance. Now that makes me take a big breath and relax. Kate is also my middle name which comes from my beautiful momma bear Kathryn and Allison means truthful- so you see the mystery behind the curtains here. :)
I find this experience of being human so wild and I am continually grateful that I am able to "work" with people in the way I do. I have been a Yoga teacher, Massage Therapist and Massage in Schools Instructor for the past 7 years, learning and growing along the way. I have entered into a more refined realm of bodywork called Biodynamic CranioSacral. I studied at Colorado Schools of Energy Studies, with John and Anna Chitty, and am also currently a Teaching Assistant for the 2015-2017 course. This education has opened, softened and healed me. A particular piece of the curriculum has changed my life forever and is a focus point for all of my work. This fascinating piece is the autonomic nervous system (ANS). It is the system in the body that keeps you safe, consistently assessing if you are under threat. If you believe you are, then your ANS has appropriate actions to protect you. Thank you ANS! I may not have made it without you! ( I made it! ) Depending on our experiences in life and how we have learned to stay safe, the idea of threat may be different for everyone. Sometimes we may "think that we are under threat" when we are actually not. Generally speaking, if you think you are under threat your body releases certain hormones for certain physiological functions; including adrenaline and cortisol. If your body feels safe it releases oxytocin (love and bonding hormone). You can only imagine what may happen to your body if you consistently feel as if you are under threat. What I am finding is that all of the mindfulness activities that are booming into mainstream culture today are all tools to regulate the autonomic nervous system. How do you regulate the ANS? ~BY ORIENTING TO THE PRESENT MOMENT~ Yes, the present moment- I know you have heard about it, but how does one do that? What is really happening when we orient to the present moment? How can I do that anywhere at any given time? This is what I am committed to offering to my community. Understanding the ANS is such a valuable piece of being human and having access to our full potential, feel safe and enjoy life. I guide, teach and support in many ways. Please see my Offerings page to see what tool works for you. ~namaste~ |
Testimonials
Allison heals my body and my souls with her kind spirit and magic touch. I really owe the last 3 years of my health to her. I truly believe my RA is in remission because of her. ~BF Allison is without a doubt the most intuitive, comprehensive healer I have ever worked with. Due to a traumatic spine injury almost 20 years ago, and years of heavy business travel, I have experienced physical therapy and massage therapy services from dozens of practitioners in half a dozen countries. Not a single one has come close to producing results at the level of Allison. The first couple of massage sessions I had with Allison, I used my standard communication technique of guiding her to the most challenging areas of my body in order to ensure success of the session. I quickly realized that she was well aware of the problem areas due to her intuitive feel and attention to detail. Years later, I truly appreciate the fact that I can simply show up for a session and relax with assurance that she will find all my problem areas and take care of them. ~ MF |
